A range of temps ahead for the New Year across the Heartland, precip to again increase for some

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and precipitation nearly nationwide.  Colder-than-normal conditions will be confined to the Northeast.
